Background
Since leaving school all those years ago I have always worked within the Finance arena and spent the bulk of my career in Financial Services. I had the opportunity to take early retirement some time ago and, since then I have occupied my time with various consultancy and temporary contracts alongside some charitable work. I worked closely with a local charity, Worcestershire Association of Carers, serving for 3 ½ years as a Director and Treasurer.
My Role
My role will involve the oversight of the Finance function whilst the current jobholders are both away on Maternity leave. The focus will be to ensure all financial controls are met within the required timelines. Achieving that task, alongside regular reporting and analysis, will enable the business to make informed decisions, all based on the most up to date information.
The most appealing part of the role is the variety of the role and never knowing how the day will unfold.
Life Outside of ISO QSL
Outside of work my time is split between friends and family, sport – both watching and playing – and food and drink – hence the expanding waistline …..
I enjoy music and also go to the theatre regularly, watching and listening to a wide range of styles.
As far as sport is concerned my main focus is golf, having recently served for a year as Captain of Ombersley Golf Club. I also love the beautiful game of rugby although my involvement nowadays is restricted to watching. I also have the privilege of selecting for Midlands U18 XV who in turn feed into the England Counties U18 team.
As far as food and drink is concerned I really enjoy the preparation – and consumption – of food accompanied by a decent red wine of course, and the occasional small sweet sherry. I also enjoy eating out at a variety of different establishments.
