My Background
Long before this, I worked in the travel industry for many years. I first started in my home town of Newcastle working on the ground at Newcastle Airport for an airline called Dan-Air, which only people of my age might remember. It was right at the beginning of the era of package holidays. I had great fun checking passengers in, excited for a day trip to Paris or a two-week holiday to Majorca. After a couple of years, I transferred to a job as a Stewardess, bringing cheap transatlantic travel to the masses, and also when Virgin started at Gatwick.
I then decided to take a more active part in the running of ISO Quality Services. I was, of course, involved with the original set-up of the business in the year 2000. In fact, it was my idea for my husband to start the company. In the very early days, I trained and worked part-time as an auditor. However, being a busy mum and running a travel business did not leave much time for anything else.
My Role
Over recent years, I began taking a more active role in the business once again, although not with the day-to-day running of the business. As a major shareholder, I’m mainly involved with strategic planning and financial decisions.Â
Life Outside of ISO QSL
I enjoy spending time with the family and entertaining. I play golf occasionally and I still have a keen interest in travel and take the opportunity to see new places whenever I can.
