WHY WE CHOOSE TO SUPPORT FOODBANK

The need for foodbanks in Trussell Trust network has increased by 81% compared to this time five years ago. In the UK, more than 14 million people live in poverty, and the cost-of-living crisis is making bare necessities more unaffordable.

This is the first time since the Covid pandemic that Foodbanks have provided more than 2 million parcels. Our local Worcester Foodbank has seen the number of people that need to use their services increase sharply – from 2,850 to more than 11,600!

With that in mind, we were pleased to re-launch our annual Bingo Box campaign for the 5^th time in aid of Worcester Foodbank, to help families have a full and Merry Christmas.

The idea was simple, organisations were challenged to complete a bingo sheet of essential items for the Foodbank or make a cash donation. Those organisations taking part could then donate the items to their local foodbank, or to our ISO QSLs headquarters for Worcester Foodbank..

SUPPORT RECEIVED

Despite businesses facing their own cost-of-living challenges, the response the campaign received was astonishing. Over 30 companies took part in the challenge, donating 42 boxes of everyday essentials.

In addition, over £700 was made in cash donations that will go straight to our local Worcester Foodbank to help them buy fresh produce and support them in to the New Year.  This brings the overall number of boxes donated to just over 70!

Ruth Allsopp, Operations Coordinator at Worcester Foodbank commented: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to ISO Quality Services for their support again this year. Every year we are overwhelmed by the generosity of the team, and this year they have donated food via their famous Bingo Box Campaign, fundraised by collecting cash donations and also donated their time by helping us here in the Warehouse. With demand for our services ever increasing we just wouldn’t be able to help all of those who need us without support like this from local businesses. Thank you so much again from all of us here at Worcester Foodbank”.
