Training and development can often be initiated for an employee or group of employees in an establishment.
Developing staff can improve business performance, profit and staff morale. By having regular and beneficial training it’s an investment that helps the employees to develop in their careers whilst giving the business a high skilled workforce with a competitive advantage.
Training can also lead to development in their job role. This development allows for more activities to be undertaken to enable employees to perform additional duties or develop in their original role.

Job shadowing would be an excellent use of on the job training. By spending time with an expert it enables the employee to observe how the expert does their day to day duties.
