Our View: International School of Linguists Limited

23 Mar, 2021

Newly certified International School of Linguists Limited wanted to obtain ISO Certification to help differentiate themselves from their competitors.  To the best of our knowledge, they are the only business in their sector with three ISO certifications (ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and ISO 22301).  Find out how they got on here…

We are pleased to announce that the International School of Linguists Limited (ISL) have simultaneously certificated to three ISO standards: ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 27001 Information Security and ISO 22301 Business Continuity.

Accredited training specialists ISL, were founded in 2013 to raise the standards of Linguists through training and testing.  With a period of change on the horizon, the decision was made to implement ISO Certification to better position themselves as a trusted supplier, therefore providing more opportunities for the business in the future.

Nick Hill, Chief Operating Officer advises: “In 2020, ISL began a period of change. Part of that journey is developing new products and services and entering new markets. Traditionally, ISL do business with micro businesses and self-employed people.  Prospective clients of ours who are Government departments and medium to large scale businesses will look at our credentials more closely when we engage with them.  Naturally, we want to be in the race, and our Senior Management Team believed that by attaining ISO certification status in quality, information security and business continuity will position ISL as a trusted supplier and provide us with more business opportunities in the future.”

Lead Assessor, Dan Pemberton began supporting ISL through the implementation process in September before presenting them with their Certifications in February.  He comments: “It has been a pleasure working with Nick and the team at ISL. Their level of leadership, management and commitment has been excellent, with clear drive towards quality, information security and business continuity. The Management Systems the organisation has chosen to implement will undoubtedly support them with their development plans, providing their service users with the reassurance that they have chosen a professional service provider.”

Chrissy Bligh, Business Development Specialists adds: “The team at ISL have been a pleasure to work with. Nick has always been communicative and fully committed to the process. It’s no mean feat taking on three standards in one go however Nick really took it in his stride and embraced incorporating them into the business. I really look forward to seeing the business progress as we continue to work with them.”

Obtaining ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and ISO 22301 has been extremely valuable for ISL. Nick concludes: “It has prompted the business to put in place formal procedures that some departments were already using informally and instil those best practices across multiple departments. Our Senior Management Team have a renewed way of looking at the business and this perspective ensures that we feel we are one step ahead of challenges and issues that arise. This puts us in a really strong position in the linguist training sector and the added bonus of being the only business with the three certifications in our market is a real selling point which will place confidence in current and prospective customers.”

ISO Quality Services Ltd are proud to specialise in the implementation and certification of the Internationally recognised ISO and BS EN Management Standards.
