Module overview
Clause 4 of ISO 9001 focuses on the Context of the Organisation. ย This clause requires you to take a step back and consider the bigger picture, identifying internal and external factors that could affect your ability to deliver consistent quality. ย It also means recognising the needs and expectations of your interested parties, defining the scope of your Quality Management System (QMS), and ensuring your processes align with these requirements.
Clause 5, Leadership, introduces the need for a Quality Policy, a core element of your management system. Your Quality Policy demonstrates your organisationโs commitment to quality and sets the tone for the culture you want to embed. ย It should be clearly defined, regularly reviewed by leadership, and communicated across the business so that every member of staff understands and upholds it. ย It must also be made available to interested parties on request.
Together, these two clauses provide the foundation for building a QMS that not only meets ISO 9001 requirements but also strengthens organisational resilience and customer trust.
