ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS)

What is ISO 9001 Quality Management?

ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised standard for Quality Management as defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).  Any organisation regardless of its size or industry can benefit from ISO 9001.  If you’re new to ISO Certification, ISO 9001 is a great place to start.  It’s the world’s most popular standard as well as the core standard that many others are based upon.

ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) provides a consistent way of doing things and ensures that your products or services continually meet your customers’ needs and expectations.  Improving your QMS to the level required by the ISO will strengthen your business performance; helping to protect it from whatever challenges lie ahead.  It also helps to increase your market share and profit potential.

How can ISO 9001 help my business grow?

You can safeguard your reputation within weeks by benchmarking your current processes and procedures against ISO 9001.  An ISO 9001 quality management system ensures that you think about everything that may affect the quality of the product or service you deliver, including risks relating to suppliers, raw materials, resources, legislation, and logistics. It ensures you regularly scan the horizon to see what risks pose a threat to your business so you can take mitigating action.

Once certified, you’ll be able to apply for public sector tenders and private sector customers will also feel reassured by your quality management system.  They’ll know your team operates to the same standard, that your products, services and suppliers are carefully monitored, and that you take action to deal with issues.  They’ll appreciate being asked for their feedback knowing that you will make improvements based on the information provided.

Your employees will enjoy working in a growing, yet customer focused company, where people take pride in getting things right the first time. Like many ISO 9001 certified businesses, you’ll find that your employee engagement and retention increase and your managers will feel more in control as processes are improved.

How much does ISO 9001 cost?

The costs vary depending on the size of your organisation and the level to which you’re currently operating with regard to your processes and procedures.  Due to our proposals being bespoke, we recommend getting in touch with a member of our team to discuss your requirement in more detail so we can provide a free, no-obligation quote.

How do we get ISO 9001?

You can achieve ISO 9001 certification in as little as 6-8 weeks, but this can vary.  We believe in a collaborative approach and will provide you with as much support as you need through this process.

As part of your audit we will carry out an initial assessment (also known as a GAP Analysis), to identify where your organisation is now and what works need to be completed to gain compliance with the certification. During this visit, your assessor will collate the information required for your Overview Document and provide you with recommendations.  Once the relevant works have been completed and documentation prepared, you’ll be presented with your ISO 9001 certificate at your presentation visit.
