Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of welcoming five of our clients to the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) Headquarters at RAF Cosford for their base tour, which left a lasting impression on everyone.
At ISO Quality Services (ISO QSL), we’ve proudly supported MAAC for more than 20 years, with our annual Charity Golf Day and Love Local Business Conference raising thousands of pounds, to help fund its lifesaving cause. While many people recognise the iconic red helicopters, seeing the charity’s work up close is an entirely different experience. We wanted to give our clients the opportunity to see first-hand where that support goes and gain a deeper understanding of the incredible work the charity carries out every day.
Joining us on the day were Surf Tech, Platform 81, GT Access, Spin UK Ltd and Split Second Holdings. Throughout the visit, we learnt more about the history of MAAC, the vital role it plays across the region and the incredible people behind every mission.
One of the most valuable parts of the visit was an in-depth CPR and first aid demonstration. It was a great reminder that knowing what to do in those critical first few minutes of an emergency can make all the difference.
We also had the chance to step on board two of the charity’s helicopters, explore the specialist medical equipment they carry, and chat with the doctors about what it’s really like responding to life-threatening incidents across the Midlands.
The most memorable moment came unexpectedly when one of the helicopters was called out to an emergency. Watching the crew prepare and take off within minutes was incredible to witness. While it was impressive to see the team respond so quickly, it was also a stark reminder that every take-off represents someone in urgent need of lifesaving care. It brought home the real impact of the charity’s work and why continued support is so vital in helping them provide lifesaving care.
What’s particularly striking is that MAAC receives no government or National Lottery funding for its daily operations. Every mission is made possible through the generosity of local people, businesses and communities who choose to donate and fundraise, making every contribution incredibly important.
Debbie Farr, HR & Facilities Director at ISO Quality Services and MAAC Business Ambassador comments: ‘Being able to highlight the importance of the MAAC, was a deep privilege, even more so in my role as one of the charity’s Business Ambassador’s. We’re passionate about the support we give them and want to use our platform and business network to raise awareness and in turn much needed funds’
A huge thank you to everyone at MAAC for making us feel so welcome and for giving us such an insightful look into the work they do every day. We’d also like to thank our clients for joining us and sharing the experience.
If you’d like to help MAAC continue providing its lifesaving service, please consider supporting the charity in any way you can. Every donation helps ensure they can continue responding to those who need them most.
