We were honoured to be selected as a finalist for the Corporate Partnership Award at the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) Recognition Awards and Charity Ball last week. The black-tie event held at the National Conference Centre (Motorcycle Museum) in Birmingham provided a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the efforts of fundraisers, volunteers, former patients, and crew members who make MAAC’s lifesaving missions possible.
The evening was hosted by a great line up of presenters, including Heart West Midlands’ Ed James, BBC Radio 2’s Richie Anderson, ITN broadcaster Nina Hossain and actress Annette Badland. It was a privilege to share the evening with individuals who share a common goal – to support this vital charity that saves lives across six Midlands counties: Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, the West Midlands and Worcestershire.
Whilst we didn’t win the Corporate Partnership Award, being recognised by MAAC for over 20 years of support means so much to us. This partnership is one we hold dear, and we remain committed to helping MAAC continue its incredible work. As many know, MAAC receives no government funding for its daily missions. The Charity relies entirely on the support and generosity of local people and businesses to sustain its lifesaving services. With each air ambulance mission costing an average of £2,950, MAAC must raise up to £14 million each year to maintain its three aircraft, critical care cars and lifesaving service.
We’re proud to have contribute to this support over the years. One of our highlights is our annual golf day, which has been running for nearly a decade and has become a significant fundraising event for us. This year, we achieved a record-breaking £6,300 to support MAAC’s lifesaving missions. Additionally, through our referral scheme, we make a charitable donation to MAAC for every successful referral we receive, further reinforcing our commitment to this incredible cause.
Debbie Farr, our HR & Facilities Director and Business Ambassador for MAAC commented: “It was an honour for us to be recognised as a finalist for the Corporate Partnership Award. Our long-standing and close relationship with MAAC has been one of our proudest commitments, and we are dedicated to supporting their essential work for many more years to come”.
