One emergency food parcel has been distributed every 11 seconds across the UK over the past year. The demand for foodbanks continues to rise, and sadly, there’s no sign of it slowing down.
For many of us, Christmas is a season of joy and celebration. But for others, it’s a time filled with anxiety and uncertainty. The pressure to take children to festive activities, visit Santa, buy presents, and still ensure there’s enough food on the table can be overwhelming. Countless parents go without meals themselves just to afford a small gift or a box of chocolates for their little ones.
For many families, winter becomes a choice between staying warm or having enough to eat. When we’re fortunate enough to afford life’s basic necessities, it’s easy to forget that this is the daily reality for thousands of people across the country.
That’s why campaigns like our Bingo Box Challenge matter so much. They help bring hope to those who need it most.
The Bingo Box Challenge encourages companies across Worcestershire to come together and help those less fortunate enjoy the Christmas they deserve. This year, our campaign has been one of the most successful yet. More than 25 companies have taken on the challenge, donating Bingo Boxes, supermarket vouchers, or financial contributions, each one making a meaningful difference.
When campaigns like this launch, there’s always a bit of uncertainty about how successful they’ll be, especially as they rely on other organisations choosing to get involved. So, when October passed without a single Bingo Box being delivered, we did start to worry, would companies take part and make their donations?
But once the first Bingo Box arrived, everything changed. Suddenly, donations began pouring in. For two solid weeks in November, right up until the challenge deadline, companies were dropping off Bingo Boxes and contributions every single day.
Our office reception was soon overflowing with donations, and it quickly became clear that we’d need a helping hand to deliver everything to Worcester Foodbank. Fortunately, our clients and neighbours at Spin UK Ltd. kindly agreed to help us by lending us their van. Once we’d loaded it up, it was obvious that we’d never have managed to deliver everything on our own.

And for all of that, we want to express our gratitude to every company and individual who accepted our challenge and helped make someone else’s Christmas that little bit easier. Christmas is a time for giving, and we’re truly thankful that so many people chose to give the greatest gift of all – support for someone in their time of need.
