ISO Quality Services achieve Worcestershire Works Well Level 1

1 Mar, 2016

Last week we were delighted to hear that as a company we have successfully achieved Worcestershire Works Well Level 1 Accreditation.

We have been working towards this accolade over the past 6 months to demonstrate our commitment to maintaining a happy and healthy business.

Worcestershire Works Well aims to help build awareness of the importance of looking after staff well-being.

The accreditation also looks to enable Worcestershire companies to demonstrate their commitment to creating the best possible working environment for their employees.

Improved employee health and well-being has been shown repeatedly to improve profitability and productivity of businesses.

In order to achieve level 1 accreditation, we were tasked with actively promoting health and well-being initiatives internally. This involved raising awareness of different health issues and encouraging our employees to make healthy choices; promoting healthy eating and exercise.

To secure this we established a WWW representative who has carried out presentations into the different well-being areas at company meetings and has organised a monthly healthy eating lunch.

She has also put together a quiz focusing on healthy choices; raising awareness of food intakes and provided general support for anyone looking to actively improve their health. Posters and regular emails promote local exercise groups, and also cover mental health, and the effects of smoking and alcohol.

As a result of our efforts we have been awarded Worcestershire Works Well Level 1 without any recommendations and were commended on our approach, passing “with flying colours”. We will begin working towards Level 2 shortly.

On achieving Level 1, Jennifer commented, “We are delighted to have been awarded this accolade. As a company we invest a lot of time in developing our staff but it’s important to remember that development is not always just professionally. In order for us to all perform at our best we need to establish a working environment geared towards creating happy and healthy employees.

From the initiative 4 people have joined weight loss groups and our staff now feel more educated and aware of how their health affects their work and vice versa. I am very proud of everyone’s commitment to improving their well-being”.
