Support meeting, internal review, bi-annual meeting – it all means the same thing. It is a non-certificate dependent check from us to ensure that you are on track with your management system. Let’s face it, nobody wants to have a week of panic prior to their recertification audit to gather all the supporting evidence and worse still, fail an audit and not receive their certification at all!
What is a support meeting?
Unlike most ISO providers, we will visit you twice a year: once at your re-certification audit (as required) and again at a support visit.
Those that have been a client with us for some time will know that this was previously known as an ‘internal review’, a sort of mock audit halfway through the year. This was neither a pass/fail scenario, rather an opportunity to review how your management system was running at that time and allowing you the time to resolve any issues ahead of your re-certification audit.
However, every business is different, and each has its own unique needs. It was therefore decided to restructure the internal review format to the support meeting, which would be far more flexible in its approach and of greater benefit to you and your business.
What can it be used for?
If you are in your first year of certification, we would always encourage you to take the internal review approach. Your first year of certification can be the toughest, you may be nervous and not know what to expect at the re-certification audit. Our internal review will help resolve this and ensures that you are on track for re-certification.
Over time the support meeting can be utilised differently and taken at any point during the year. For example, if you have a non-conformance at the point of re-certification on Objective Setting, you could have your support meeting the following month to focus specifically on this. Here are some ideas for how you could use your support meeting:
Do I need to do anything?
Your account manager will be in touch to book your support meeting in each year after your re-certification audit. All we ask of you is that you complete the support meeting questionnaire and return it to ourselves prior to the visit taking place. This checklist contains all the options you can pick from and allows us plenty of time to prepare for the visit, ensuring you get the most out of your time with our lead assessor.
Do I need a support meeting?
The support meeting is invaluable to you and ensures you do not run the risk of losing your certification, which is why our re-certification rate is so high. As well as this, it also gives you the opportunity to really embed your management system into the day to day running of your business.
So many businesses come to us as they feel their management systems are not fit for purpose and that they are just ticking boxes for a badge on the wall. The support visit meeting helps you to fully integrate the management systems into operations and ensure that you enjoy all the benefits that comes with doing this.
What if we need additional support?
If you feel like you’re struggling with your management system and the support visit isn’t enough, please don’t worry as we can offer you additional support with consultancy. Please contact your account manager directly to discuss your requirements in more detail.
Don’t forget, we also offer ‘classroom’ and bespoke ‘on-site’ training courses which are both currently being held remotely. In addition, there is also our online training, complete with free modules and multi-bundle discounts. Find out more here.
