The Best Golf Day by Par!

16 Jun, 2022

We’re pleased to announce that our charity golf day raised £2,500 in aid of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, doubling last years achievement.

Our annual golf day returned for it’s 7th year and proved more popular than ever, attracting 40 golfers.

The event was held at Bransford Golf Club, a stunning Florida-style golf course that offers a challenge to all levels of golfers. We couldn’t have picked a better day for it with sunshine all day and temperatures reaching up to 23 oC.  It certainly felt like we could have been in Florida.

The day began with networking over bacon butties before heading onto the course for an 18-hole Stableford team competition.  Afterwards, the golfers enjoyed a two-course meal at The Bank House Hotel where prizes were given to the winning teams:

1st Place: James Osborne, Jeff Osborne, Stewart Murdoch, and David Murdoch

2nd Place: Chris Lown, Steve Knott, Jamie Woods, and Carl Sampson

3rd Place: Phil Price, John Bligh, James Masters, and Jordan Lockyer

We have been proud supporters of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) for over a decade now after they assisted the Appleton family in a moment of need.

The Charity funds and operates three air ambulances covering six Midlands counties (Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, and the West Midlands).  Chairman, Peter Appleton comments: “The Midlands Air Ambulance run solely on charitable donations, they receive no Government or National Lottery funding so events like these are essential to their continued running. We are incredibly grateful to the golfers and donors for their continued support of our golf day”.

Julia Allen from Midlands Air Ambulance adds: “We are extremely grateful to Peter, Susan, Jennifer and the whole team at ISO QSL for supporting our pre-hospital emergency service by continuing to host their annual golf day to support our charity. Their continued support through raising vital funds and raising awareness within the business community will help fund future vitally important missions via our helicopters and critical care cars within the 6 counties that we serve. It was an honour to join ISO QSL and their keen golfers on the day and I’d like to thank everyone who attended for their support too”.

Peter continues: “We’d like to give a special thanks to our sponsors Borwell, Sutcliffe & Co, Indegu, Haines Watts, Jonathan Lee Recruitment, Nicol & Co, Business Solutions Midlands and Assure Technical.  Along with our raffle prize donors Browns at the Quay, Bolero Venues, Zentano, Midlands Air Ambulance, Worcester Warriors, Auto K, Cottage in the Wood Hotel & Restaurant, Bank House Hotel, Bransford Golf Club,  Julian Powell from Hallmark Whatley Hulme Solicitors, Phil Price and John Bligh”.
