Sleeping Out to Help Out

22 Oct, 2021

Last week, Jennifer, Kerrie and Amy braved the cold for the Big Worcester Sleep Out to raise money for three Worcester charities.  Find out how they got on here…

With Sunday 10th October marking World Homeless Day, there isn’t a better week to help raise awareness around the complex issues surrounding homelessness and the Big Worcester Sleep Out aims to do just that.

This annual event returned on Thursday 14th October at Sixways Stadium, Worcester after being forced to cancel last year’s event because of COVID-19.  Despite the autumn elements, Jennifer, Kerrie and Amy bundled up and grabbed their sleeping bags to raise money for three of Worcester’s homelessness Charities; St Paul’s Hostel, Warriors Community Foundation, and Maggs Day Centre.

The team did amazingly well, smashing their original target of £500.00, raising just under £750.00.  A huge thank you to everyone who was able to support the team and these amazing charities.  It’s really appreciated by all.

To date, the event has raised nearly £15,500 which will be split equally between the charities and help towards ending the homelessness crisis within Worcester.

There’s still time to donate or sign up to your own sleep out from home until the end of October.  You can find out more about Big Worcester Sleep Out and these charities on their website: https://worcestersleepout.co.uk/
