Say hello to the Apprenticeship Employer of the Year!

It may have been a cold wintery evening but on Thursday 27^th November temperatures raised as ISO Quality Services Ltd scooped TWO awards at this year’s Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards including the big prize of the night – Apprenticeship Employer of the Year 2014.

ISO Quality Services Ltd was initially shortlisted for the Apprenticeship Employer of the Year – Small business, which to be recognised was a great honour in itself. Therefore to have won the award everybody was understandably delighted. This delight was illustrated by the huge ‘whoops’ that came from the ISOQSL table when the announcement was made.

The joy felt after this announcement paled into comparison when the big award of the night for Apprenticeship Employer of the Year 2014 was announced. It was an award that ISOQSL were not aware of being nominated for so when it was announced that ISOQSL had won, there was a mixture of shock, extreme pride and happiness.

Dedicated apprentices

The awards were a culmination of all the hard work by every single one of those who work for the company. First and foremost ISOQSL would not have been in the position to be nominated had it not been for the apprentices themselves. Emily, Mike and Natalie are a credit to themselves and to the company. Every day they work incredibly hard and are real team players who are always willing to learn.

When commenting upon on their time with ISOQSL Mike Williams (Finance apprentice) said, “I am extremely grateful for the opportunity that ISOQSL has given me, coming from a short retail background with little experience, being given the chance to come into the company and work with such a friendly and helpful group of people, who have assisted me throughout my apprenticeship has been fantastic. This award is not only for the work Emily, Natalie and I have put in, but all of the hard work and time that everyone at ISOQSL has committed to us, and the three of us feel this award is very well deserved for everyone’s efforts.”

Backed by senior management

Secondly, without the backing of senior management the company’s apprenticeship scheme would not have got off the ground. The commitment they have shown to the development to all of the company’s apprentices has been unwavering, as has the encouragement they have given. Jennifer Appleton (Operations Director) was integral to the implementation of the company’s Apprenticeship scheme and in reaction to the fantastic news was full of pride,

“As a company that has invested in taking on apprentices for the last two years, we’re delighted to be recognised for our commitment to helping young people gain the necessary experience and qualifications that they require in today’s business environment. We’re equally delighted that it highlights the work that Heart of Worcestershire College does around the county to promote the apprenticeship scheme. Our relationship with them has gone from strength to strength and we’re pleased that they can join us in our success!”

Last but not least, every employee of ISOQSL has had a significant input into the company winning these prestigious awards. The patience and effort shown in the training of the apprentices, making them feel welcome and part of the family is incredibly important to the success of the apprenticeship scheme.

ISO Quality Services would like to say massive congratulations to every single company and individual that was nominated as part of the awards. It is exceptionally important to invest in the education of the next generation and it fills us with great pride to be a part of such a tremendous event.
