ISO Standards are reviewed at least every five years, ensuring they remain up to date and globally relevant. You are required to transition to the newly issued standard within a specified timeframe, usually three years, in order to remain certified. We can support you through the re-certification process within three months.
Transitioning may feel a little daunting and you might be tempted to put the process off until as late as possible however it’s worth bearing in mind that changes have been made for a reason. Any revisions have been made based on feedback received and are therefore designed to be more relevant and user-friendly.
An example is the replacement of the BS OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety management system by ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety. If you are currently operating under BS OHSAS 18001 you have until 2021 to transition to ISO 45001.
ISO 45001 has seen significant improvements on BS OHSAS 18001 and is a universally recognised International Standard, compared to BS OHSAS 18001 which was a British Standard.
Our approach is simple, hands on and flexible. One of our consultants will visit you to conduct a GAP analysis, allowing us to identify where you are now and what works are required to bring you in line with the new standard. You will be provided with a full list of recommendations to help you develop your policies and documents as required.
At a second visit we will guide you through the process of implementing the recommendations and if required, produce a mini manual to document the transition.
A UKAS Accredited Certification body cannot offer any assistance with the implementation of the ISO Standards and therefore a consultancy organisation such as ourselves is required.
“well planned and executed. The auditor who did the work on site was very good, easy to work with and produced one of the best manuals our assessors had seen; a huge compliment given he travels all over the world.”
