I joined ISO Quality Services Ltd in September 2013 as a sub contracted Lead Auditor in ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001 2015, BS OHAS 18001, ISO 27001: 2013 and ISO 17100. I am an author for the Advanced Diploma in Management Course incorporating Risk Assessments, Legal and Regulatory, Quality Management Systems, Employee Training and Assessments. I am also working with major multinational companies throughout the UK as External Auditor for Health and Safety and Environmental Risk Assessments.
I worked for more than twenty years with the Northern Ireland Department for Trade and Industry and during my time with them I was able to complete my BA Degree and Member to the Institute of Supervisory Management Certificate. A major part of my responsibilities was to work closely with the Gas and Oil Industry which at the time was undergoing major development in reviewing its legislation and new training programmes had to be established in meeting the needs for the industry under the Approved Codes of Practice (ACoP’s) scheme. During this period I was trained and Approved as a Training Assessor for CITB, NIC, BePEC and OFTEC. Completed City and Guilds D32: Assess candidate performance, D33: Assess candidate using different sources of evidence and D34: Internally verify the assessments and Assessors. I also worked with the Isle of Man Government and worked closely with their Health and Safety Department in making the necessary regulatory updates and training programmes in parity with UK.
I then took early retirement and under my own consultancy was contracted to manage a one million plus external audit for a major environmental energy group which took twelve months to complete. During the past two years I was approached by the CEA for a dedicated management course. It was clear that much had to be done in developing the course and to deliver it, as Managers need to protect their Operators, their plant, the public and themselves. I am currently working on developing materials and training strategies which will meet the management trainees’ overall requirements.
