Ethos Group Become a SSAFA Corporate Partner

11 Apr, 2023

When we heard the news that Ethos Group had become Corporate Partners of fellow clients SSAFA, we wanted to share the amazing work they’ve been doing for the defence and armed forces community.

In July, Ethos, a leading provider of managed document solutions, integration, and automation specialists, became one of just 156 companies awarded the Armed Forces Employer Recognition Service (ERS) Gold Award.  This is the highest level an employer can achieve for their support to the defence and armed forces community.

To achieve this, Ethos had to demonstrate their ongoing commitment to the armed forces and wider forces community within their business operations.  This included forces-friendly credentials as part of their recruiting and selecting process, providing at least 10 days additional leave for training and full pay to Reservist employees and Adult Cadet trainers.

Advocacy of the ERS is also a significant component of achieving a Gold Award, which they encompassed into their critical supplier questionnaire, promoting their support for the Charity at every possible opportunity.

Following their award, Ethos became a Corporate Partner of SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity who has been supporting our service men and women (regulars and reserves), veterans and their families for nearly 140 years.

Lisa Mawditt, Accreditations Manager at Ethos comments: “We have veterans working within the business and an Adult Cadet trainer, so this was not a difficult decision to make given the tremendous job that our military personnel past and present do for every single one of us.  We wanted to work with a Charity that includes all our service men and women, both veterans and serving.  SSAFA fits this bill and is available even if you have only served for one day”.

Since their partnership, the team have held several fundraising events, including the Gildea 137 challenge, to celebrate the Charity’s 137th anniversary and five-a-side football.  Looking forward, the team plans to walk the 13 bridges over the River Thames and hold a corporate charity golf day.  If you’d like to support Ethos in their fundraising efforts, you can make a donation via the SSAFA website here.

Jessica Sanders, SSAFA’s Corporate Partnerships Officer, adds: “I am delighted to have Ethos Group become a Corporate Partner for SSAFA. The Armed Forces charity. With support from Ethos, we can continue supporting veterans, those currently serving, and for their families when they need us, how they need us, and where they need us.

If you’d like to follow in the footsteps of Ethos and show your support for the defence and armed forces community, you can find out more about The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme here.
