After showing a continued commitment to the environment, market leader in flexible vehicle hire and fleet solutions, Northgate, has been awarded the ISO 14001 certification.
An internationally recognised standard that sets out to organisations how to put in place an effective Environmental Management System, the ISO 14001 allows a company to identify aspects of its business that impact on the environment and also understand those environmental laws that are relevant to its operations. It also enables a business to produce clear objectives and implement a management programme to achieve them, with regular reviews for continuous improvement.
Implementing an ISO 14001 environmental standard meant that Northgate could effectively balance between maintaining profitability and reducing environmental impact. Building upon its considerable environmental achievements to date, the standard follows in the footsteps of Northgate’s RoSPA award wins and supplements the robust environmental management controls that were already in place.

This standard is just the beginning for us in terms of continued improvements and is absolutely key when it comes to raising and improving awareness of Northgate’s environmental commitment.
