Days Fleet – Case Study
ISO Quality Services are pleased to announce that Days Fleet, based in Swansea, have re-certificated to ISO 14001 (Environmental). Days Fleet supplies vehicles to public and private sector across the UK on a contract hire and flexi hire basis. They also provide full supporting fleet management services such as Driver Licence Checking, Accident Management and vehicle telematics and have been successfully running the management system for seven years.
The ISO 14001 Environmental Management System helps businesses to control those aspects of the business that have a significant impact on the environment. Prior to achieving this certification, Days Fleet were already UKAS accredited to ISO 9001 (Quality) and chose to implement ISO 14001 in order to expand their existing management system as part of a wider management strategy, improving both their business processes and impact on the local and wider communities.
Days Fleet feel that certification has helped them to focus on all business processes, not just those linked to ISO 14001, allowing them to make improvements across the whole business. Caroline Lee, Quality Manager, commented further: “It has allowed us to promote our quality and environmental management systems to existing and prospective clients, giving them assurance that Days Fleet operates to high standards.”
Certification is an ongoing process that businesses need to continue to follow and update when required. For businesses looking to implement ISO 14001 or any other management system, Caroline recommends that you “ensure that you have a dedicated team who keep the standard up to date. Invest enough resources in obtaining and managing the standard.”
