Can You Help Make a Family’s Christmas?

11 Oct, 2021

Our Bingo Box challenge is back! With the Foodbank giving out more food than they are receiving in donations, we’re hoping to help feed even more families this Christmas.

In the past five years, the need for foodbanks in the Trussell Trust’s UK network has increased by 128%

Hunger in the UK isn’t about food, it’s about lack of income with the main drivers being problems in the benefits system, challenging life experiences and lack of support.

Last year, the Foodbanks distributed a record breaking 2.5 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis, a 33% increase on the previous year.  Nearly 1 million of these went to children.  With Universal Credit claimants seeing their payments reduced by £20 a week, rising energy costs and the end of the furlough scheme, unprecedented pressure on Foodbanks is to be expected over the coming months.

Grahame Lucas, Worcester Foodbank Manager, said: “There is a terrible crisis looming for low-income households and we’re already seeing the impact at our warehouse.”

“The rise we’ve witnessed in child hunger has been particularly distressing but by donating a few tins of food, people can at least help us to ensure no adult or child we support has to skip meals.”

So how can you help?

We’re excited to announce that our Bingo Box challenge is back.

Despite the pandemic, the number of organisations who took part last year was quite amazing.  In total, 21 companies participated and helped us donate an astonishing 50 boxes.  This year, with the Foodbanks under even more pressure, we want to do even better.

We’re reaching out to all organisations to ask them to complete the Bingo Box challenge and spread the word on the crisis the Foodbank is facing.

All you need to do is add a couple of extra items to your shopping basket to complete one of our Bingo sheets or, if you want to help even more families, both sheets.  Once you’ve collected all the items, simply donate the box to your local Foodbank.  Alternatively, you can make a cash donation to ourselves which will be donated towards our local Foodbank, Worcester.  Simply email marketing@isoqsltd.com for our bank details.

Don’t forget to spread the word on social media too.  This helps get even more organisations involved which means more families fed.

We’ll also be providing prizes for ‘First Donation Made’, ‘First Box Completed’ and ‘Best Decorated Box’ so make sure you send us your photos so we can give you a shoutout on social media too.

If you have any questions regarding the campaign, please call marketing on 0330 058 5551 or email marketing@isoqsltd.com
