Most businesses will have a carbon footprint, which is an estimate of the impact on climate change. Your carbon footprint is calculated by estimating CO2 and other harmful greenhouse gases; methane and nitrous oxide.
We are a national business and visit our clients twice a year to review their systems. Through these auditing activities, as a company we created a total of 3,176 assessor miles last year.
To offset this, we have donated the offset of 2 metric tons of co2 into a certified carbon reduction project, run by Carbon Footprint Ltd.
This included planting two trees in the West Midlands, thereby offsetting carbon dioxide emissions, helping to prevent climate change, and creating space for wildlife.
You can calculate your business’ carbon footprint here and find out more about ways to become ‘carbon neutral’ and reduce your impact on the environment.
After you have calculated your impact and offset it, the next stage is to look for ways to reduce it.
Are you concerned by your environmental impact? Are you currently measuring your impact or setting environmental objectives? Talk to us about how implementing an ISO 14001 Environmental Management system could help.
An environmental management certificate goes a long way in reassuring customers who take an active interest in environmental performance that they are working with a company which promotes a shared environmental ethos. Look to improve efficiency, reduce costs and differentiate from your competitors by becoming more environmentally aware.
To improve your knowledge and understanding of your environmental responsibilities, book a place on our upcoming Environmental Management Training Course held in Worcester on Thursday 24th November 9.30-4.30pm. Find out more about this course

On Wednesday 5th October we were delighted to be announced as a winner at the Midlands National Apprenticeship Awards 2016 regional ceremony.
We were named Regional Small Employer of the Year for the second time, after being awarded the title last year. The award was sponsored by Unilever.
The Awards, now in their thirteenth year, are run by the National Apprenticeship Service and recognise excellence in two areas: businesses that grow their own talent with apprentices and apprentices who have made a significant contribution to their workplaces.
On winning, Jennifer Appleton, Operations Director of ISO Quality Services Ltd said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded this award once again. Our apprenticeship scheme is at the very heart of our company and we are very proud of our apprentices, but also our whole team for fully embracing the scheme and contributing towards learning and development. We are excited to once again be put forward to the National awards.”
ISO Quality Services won in recognition of their on-going contribution to apprenticeships. We currently employ 16 people at our office in St Johns, and have taken on two new apprentices in the past year, one in Marketing and the other in Finance.
We would also like to congratulate Green Lighting who were awarded Highly Commended in our Category.
Sue Husband, Director of the National Apprenticeship Service, said:
“ISO Quality Services has won the Small Employer of the Year award at the Midlands Regional Finals and I would like to congratulate them on their achievement. Winning this award is greatly deserved. There has never been a better time to become an apprentice or employ one.”
